From the moment I stepped into the lobby at Casa del Melgar I knew Inhad chosen a special place! This is a beautiful old Arequipa home, full of charm, patios with flowers, large windows with hanging baskets....full of sun and antiquity. The room are all different, but all have old pieces of furniture to keep on with the appropriate style of the place,yet the private bathrooms are up to date. Easynto sleep,well as it is quiet. The breakfast is good, and served in the patio surrounded by flower garden. The staff was more than friendly. The location was three blocks from Plaza de Armas. I would return any time and recommend it highly to everyone.

It was all wonderful. If I was to be picky, I would say that it took ages for the hot water to arrive for a shower, which made me feel a bit bad about wasting water, but when it did come it was great.

The standard double room was wonderfully decorated in a unique style. The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect and amazing - at walking distance from a theatrically presented museum. The venue itself was in a quiet area, very close to the centre of Arequipa and Arequipa.

The hot water in the shower takes a while to heat up, which can be wasteful.

I had the most amazing stay at this hotel in the heart of the city. the attention to detail in the rooms was incredible - from the mammoth doors to the stunning details, it truly felt like stepping back in time. Secondly, the staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure our experience was top-notch. Lastly, the location couldn't be more perfect, being centrally located in the city center, allowing us to easily explore all the attractions. Plus, the breakfast was a delightful start to the day.
